The Basics

Any driver that you connect to your online courier software will receive their own ID number, which they will use to login to their 2-way app on their mobile device. From here, any order that you dispatch out to that driver will pop up as a notification on their device, and then be found on the orders tab within the app. From here, the driver can see all the details of the order, and can confirm that they can take it, which then changes the status of the order within your system. Once they have the order confirmed, drivers can select the pickup and delivery address to automatically open up their preferred maps app and instantly route them to their destination. Once they have picked up the order, they can take a picture and mark it as picked-up, again changing the status of the order on your side of the system. Then, once they have reached their final destination, they can again take a picture and click deliver, which will prompt them to receive a signature from the person who receives the order. Once they submit that, the order will finally change status to ‘delivered’ on your side, giving you the signature and any other order details, allowing you to mark the order as complete! That is the life cycle of an order, and how your drivers play a crucial part in updating the status and information of each delivery!

The Advanced

Beyond the general order cycle that drivers can go through using the 2-way app, there are some additional customization and information features that can be very useful for drivers within the app! For one, drivers can select their map preference between Apple, Google, and Waze. Whichever map app they prefer, they can use! Additionally, when drivers carry out deliveries and travel distances, they can see a travel log on the history tab. Here, drivers can see a map of all the deliveries they have made as well as their total distance travelled, informing them of all the deliveries they have done! There is also an option to scan a barcode if any packages require that, providing you with more information about the deliveries the drivers make, as well as an option to see future orders. These tools are useful for some of the more advanced delivery options, providing drivers with as much information as possible, as soon as possible!

Your Side

While drivers use the 2-way app to receive their dispatched orders and see information about deliveries, on your end of the system, drivers using 2-way apps are helpful to make decisions on driver dispatch. On the online courier software, you can open up a driver map, which shows you the real-time location of all the drivers currently operating. This provides you with critical information which makes it easier to see which driver should be given any new order that comes in. You can also see on your side of the system which drivers are online and available, as well as how many orders they currently have assigned to them.
